The Save the Children State of the World’s Mothers report is marketing genius if you ask me. It’s never easy getting people think about unpleasant topics like poverty and war, but releasing it on Mother’s Day and including stuff like the rankings should be able to get some interest and hold it. I haven’t actually read the report yet, but I’ll write about it once I have. In these kinds of reports, the Central Asia countries usually rank pretty high, largely, I think, because most births and are hospitals and there is little discrimination in the legal codes.
