The Game Days site is about the activities of the USAID Sports and Health Project (SHEP). SHEP is intended to reduce conflict in Central Asia through cross border interactions – kids in Uzbekistan, for example, plays teams from Kyrgyzstan. They also provide health education for the kids on the teams. It’s an incredibly fun project to be involved with, because it’s all about kids playing sports, which is a lot less complicated than most USAID work. This site was actually developed by 6th graders at the Tashkent International School, which is pretty cool. If you look closely at the kids in the pictures, you can see them carrying posters I helped design – ZdravPlus, my employer, is a close partner to SHEP.
